Thank-you to all of you who joined us for Sports Day, for which we were fortunate to have just a few sprinkles and a window of sunshine! Thanks again to our amazing staff who organized the day, the Grade 7 students who worked so hard creating and running the stations, and to our students who shared their joy in participating in the bike parade and the fun stations and activities! Thank you to the PAC for providing the upcoming sessions for all of our students, June 8 – June 12.  Brick Connections offers interactive, LEGO-based workshops designed to complement classroom curricula. Their programs integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEM) principles to foster problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork among students from Kindergarten to Grade 7. We are looking forward to it!

The next PAC meeting will be held on THURSDAY, JUNE 11^th at 6:30 pm in the Library.  This meeting is the Annual General Meeting, a chance for you to get more involved at Cliff Drive!

Freezie Fridays will continue every Friday until the end of June! Jumbo Freezies are $2 each. Sales will be cash only at the back of the school near the playground.

Information from the Delta School District: Electric Scooters and E-Bikes

As the warmer weather approaches, students will have more opportunities to engage in bike- and scooter-related activities like commuting to school. Please find below a reminder of the provincial regulations regarding electric kick scooters and electric bikes (e-bikes).

Electric kick scooters should not be used by students travelling to school or while on the school grounds. Despite their popularity in our province, electric kick scooters remain illegal for use on public roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks across most of B.C., except in a handful of communities that are taking part in a pilot program to test the use of them. The City of Delta is not part of the pilot program. Even in the pilot program cities, it is illegal for a person under 16 years of age to operate an electric kick scooter and may result in a fine. Click here for more information.

E-Bikes: In B.C., it is illegal for students under 14 years of age to ride e-bikes. Students can operate light e-bikes at age 14 and standard e-bikes at 16. Parents or guardians of students below the minimum age must not knowingly permit them to ride an e-bike.
